Shizuo Heiwajima's Apartment

He snuck in through the window without making a sound. Something he'd done many times before. It had started out as a taunt. Something to prove that he could sneak into the home of the mighty Shizuo Heiwajima and live to tell the tale. Each night he'd edged a bit closer looking on the upon the face of the man who struck so much fear into the hearts of the patrons of Ikebukuro, until finally tonight, he was so close he could feel the breath of the other man as he slept.

He closed his eyes re-living past memories and a faint smile traced his lips as he leaned over Shizuo. His lips brushed the debt collectors just faintly and he smirked keeping his knife on the ready incase he woke up and tried to kill him as he watched the other man sleep.

The day's events had sufficiently left Shizuo Heiwajima fatigued.

It wasn't like working for his old friend was terribly draining or anything...Actually, scratch that. It can be pretty fucking irritating. He venerated Tom for having such saint like patience, especially with all the measly scumbags that made Ikebukuro reek.

Walking through the city, collecting debts, hearing such bullshit everyday...It made his blood boil.

Right now, in the comfort of his bed, he wasn't anywhere near Ikebukuro. Instead, he was faraway somewhere. He was basking in the sun near a sparkling ocean, until someone in his dream had caught his eye, and then...his lips were captured in a kiss. The kiss was so gentle.

He was smiling, even when he recognized the other person who had accompanied him in his dream. He was still grinning merrily, as he chased after the man with the crimson red eyes, carrying a sailboat over his head as if he were about to throw it. They both were laughing, having fun.

He chuckled softly in his sleep, stirring a bit under his sheets.

"I'll get ya...Iiiizaaayaaa-kun~..."

Unconsciously, he clung onto the closest thing his grasp could reach, and that would be the one he was dreaming of.

Snuggling and holding securely in his arms, he treated Izaya as a pillow, nuzzling against his smooth skin. He had no idea, but he looked happy and peaceful enough.

He was caught completely off guard and for a moment he struggled to get away from his grasp slightly panicking. How does he know I'm here?!
It was then that he realized Shizuo was dreaming and he sighed laughing to himself a bit and relaxed in his grasp smirking slightly with a curious twinge as he thought of something amusing to do.

Leaning over he whispered into the blonde's ear red eyes flashing with amusement. "Oh no Shizu-chan! You've caught me...But what's this? I have your shorts! How did you lose those? You shouldn't walk around naked..." he smirked running his lips softly over Shizuo's lower lip just enough to show him he was there, "...at least not unless you have ice cream." He smirked deviously. "If you have ice cream you can be naked all you want...but if we get ice cream, you have to share."

"U-Uh, wha--what..."

His smile disappeared and was replaced with an embarrassed frown. The melodic voice whispering in his ears, the soft touch upon his lips, the looming presence of another person...it just felt way too real.

Scowling and stirring awake, his eyes fluttered open and he now was glaring at the bed intruder.

It took him a few seconds for his blurry vision to clear up, before his muddled mind processed that Izaya Orihara was staring right back at him with his signature smirk of smugness.

"...T-The fuck you're doin' here...?"

He tried to swing an uncoordinated punch into Izaya's face, but of course he missed him. He grumbled and sat up, looking right into Izaya's eyes. Their foreheads were practically sewn together.

"No, seriously. What are you doing here?"

His cheeks suddenly flushed just a smidgen, remembering just a bit of his dream that he was enjoying. He hoped to the gods that he didn't say anything stupid while he slept, giving this flea a peak into his subconscious.

He smirked slyly when the other man woke up just dodging out of the way enough to narrowly avoid the punch. Thank the gods for quick reflexes.
Still, even then, he didn't move from the spot he was in.

Leaning on one arm his smirk widened almost triumphantly.
Though he'd been here every night since Shizuo had moved in to...'do surveillance'....this was the first time he'd woken up.
And yet somehow the danger of being uninvited in his room excited him. Really, they hadn't been this close since they were kids and well...it just made things interesting.

"Oh Shiiii-zu-chan! You know I people watch. You can't be surprised I know where you live."

For a moment he almost let his guard down, it had been years since he'd seen Shizuo's beautiful gold eyes without the sunglasses and his hair tousled and unkempt. And the way he seemed disoriented and slightly confused from just waking up was...well, to put it bluntly, damned cute.
His eyes blazed and he leaned into him looking him over once more before speaking.

"Besides, the way you called out my name it seems like it wasn't our normal game of cat and mouse... You want me here."

He leaned back smile never leaving his features. Red eyes watching gold as if daring him to make a move.

It was the dead of night, and he was way too exhausted to deal with the flea right now. He groaned in annoyance as he listened to him ramble, gritting his teeth into a scowl and never dropping his gaze.

"Grrrr, shut your mouth...H-Huh?!"

He frowned as his eyes went wide and his ears burned, looking like a little kid whose special secret crush was leaked onto a playground full of brats who were all against him. It didn't help that the person he had been dreaming of was leaning into him so closely, and giving him that stare, with those eyes, and that smirk.

"I...called out..."

Dejectedly, he softly rubbed his cheek, which felt incredibly warm with a blush.

He'll know how I really feel about him, dammit...He'll know that I don't actually hate him...that much.

......Knowing him, he probably already knows. Wonder how he feels...I wonder what's going on through that head of his.

Memories of their past together began to spindle, right from the very moment the met in high school. The first time they stared into each other's eyes with such intensity. Intense with love, or intense with hate?

Is there really a difference?

Whatever it was, the emotions that unraveled upon their first meeting was strong enough to last even now when they were all grown up.

In spite of himself, he chuckled as he quietly reminisced, covering his face with his hand to not reveal much of his expression, which was nostalgic and even a little happy.

Heh, cat and mouse...

Suddenly, he took up a large pillow and chucked it at Izaya with enough force to make him end up on the floor. Ploof!

He smiled, stretching and yawning drowsily. He then grinned in the darkness, glancing out the window which displayed the bustling city of 'bukuro, still alight and awake. He thought to himself that he won't get much sleep tonight as well.

Looking down from his bed, he smirked at Izaya.

He hit the floor with an 'oof' and gave a faint smile to himself before replacing it with a smirk for Shizuo to see. "Now, now Shizu-chan, that wasn't very nice..."

His smirk became a grin as he jumped back in bed with him, tackling him, knife in hand just incase he'd been wrong about the dream and Shizuo really did want him dead.

He pinned him, knife at his collar bone with a triumphant grin on his face as if he'd won some great prize. He watched him before moving the knife away, just for a moment, an almost certain fatal flaw...but the gold eyes distracted him and he tilted his head to the side giving him an almost curious smile.

"What were you dreaming of?"

When Izaya tackled him, he grimaced and grunted, having the wind temporarily knocked out of him.

Seeing Izaya pinning him down into his own bed, he felt his heartbeat quicken. He glanced at the knife threatening to slit his throat at any given moment, but he didn't look all that worried. He gazed into Izaya's dark red eyes instead, becoming a bit lost.

He scowled obstinately when he heard that embarrassing question slip out of Izaya's mouth. Averting his eyes, he frowned and became a bit flustered. He smirked ruefully.

"Why should I tell you? Anyway, it wasn't any different from what we do everyday. I was chasing you, you were running away..." He shrugged.

"The same."

He suddenly looked amused and what he did next was a surprise even to himself. The smile danced on his lips as he cut open the flimsy night shirt carefully, not once nicking his rival.

"Oh...? Is that all?"

Fire blazed in his gaze and he smirked running his finger tips over the smooth flesh of his chest before leaning forward to brush his lips over his jawline.

"And what exactly would you have done if you caught me?"

He smirked whispering the words into his ear, full of suggestion as his lips danced just millimeters above his skin.
